Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kaza
Arrive in Kaza, the gateway to Spiti Valley, and settle into your hotel or guesthouse. Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude and exploring the local market and quaint town streets. This rest day is crucial to prepare your body for the adventures ahead. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 2: Kaza – Pin Valley National Park (Mud Village / Kibber)
After breakfast, drive towards the entrance of Pin Valley National Park near Kibber Village. Enjoy a guided nature walk or light trek inside the park, looking out for unique wildlife such as the Himalayan ibex, blue sheep, and if lucky, signs of the elusive snow leopard. Visit Mud Village, famous for its traditional mud-brick houses and unique architecture. Spend the night in a homestay in Kibber or Mud Village, soaking in the serene mountain environment.
Day 3: Trekking and Wildlife Exploration in Pin Valley
Dedicate the day to trekking along different trails in Pin Valley, surrounded by dramatic landscapes and rare flora. This day offers an excellent opportunity for bird watching and observing wildlife in their natural habitat. Interact with local shepherd communities to learn about their traditional lifestyle and survival in this harsh environment. Return for an overnight stay in Kibber or Mud Village.
Day 4: Kibber – Key Monastery – Kaza
Drive back to Kaza, stopping at the magnificent Key Monastery, perched high above the valley. Explore the monastery’s ancient halls, murals, and spiritual ambiance, gaining insight into Tibetan Buddhist culture. After the visit, continue to Kaza for some leisure time before your overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure from Kaza
