Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kaza
Arrive in Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley, and check into your accommodation. Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude while exploring the local market and soaking in the peaceful mountain town atmosphere. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 2: Kaza – Hikkim – Komic – Langza – Kaza
Begin your day with a drive to Hikkim village, home to the world’s highest post office. Experience the charm of sending postcards from this unique location. Then, visit Komic, known for its ancient monastery and stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Continue to Langza village, famous for its rich fossil deposits and large Buddha statue. Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Kaza – Dhankar Gompa – Tabo Monastery – Kaza
Travel to Dhankar Village to visit the spectacular Dhankar Gompa perched on a cliff, offering breathtaking views of the confluence of Spiti and Pin Rivers. Later, explore Tabo Monastery, renowned for its ancient frescoes and spiritual significance. Return to Kaza for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Kaza – Pin Valley National Park (Kibber or Mud Village)
Drive to the entrance of Pin Valley National Park near Kibber village. Enjoy guided nature walks and wildlife spotting in this unique cold desert ecosystem, home to rare species like the snow leopard and Himalayan ibex. Stay overnight in a homestay in Kibber or Mud Village.
Day 5: Departure from Kaza
